ESPN First Take

ESPN First Take follows Mike and Mike from 10am to noon, Monday to Friday.

Hosted by Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobson along with Skip Bayless, guests and regular contributors, this program is chock full of news, headlines and fast-paced segments, among them 1st and 10, covering the Top 10 hottest sports stories from around the world; Couch Potato with ESPN's trivia guru Howie Schwab; segments spotlighting the NFL, NBA and MLB; Morning Headlines, SportsCenter Updates and much more.

DANA JACOBSON
Co-host of ESPN First Take

Dana Jacobson is the co-host of the ESPN2 weekday morning program ESPN First Take, interviewing guests, participating in discussion segments and sharing hosting duties for the show's "1st and 10" debate segments. She joined the show, then called Cold Pizza and based in New York, in March 2005. In May 2007, the show moved to ESPN's high-definition studio in Bristol, Conn., and was rechristened ESPN First Take.

In 2006 Dana had her first taste of the Summer X Games, serving as the host for XCenter. One show and she was hooked….which was why she jumped at the chance to fill the same role for the Winter X Games. While her skateboarding abilities haven't improved, she has started snowboarding and has hosted XCenter in both seasons ever since.

From skydiving with the Army's Golden Knights to performing on the trampoline with members of Cirque du Soleil, Dana never turns down a challenge. One of her latest work endeavors: writing for ESPN.com in the summer of 2010. A Midwest ballpark excursion turned into a chance for Dana to take readers with her on the road for the ultimate fan experience, a baseball road trip.

Since beginning her broadcast career, Dana has always believed that her most important job is to tell viewers a story with pictures and words. She is a passionate sports fan who isn't afraid to go toe to toe with the guys at work or on the playing field, but still manages to keep her feminine side visible at all times. Just check out her shoes!

Prior to joining ESPN she served as a weekend sports anchor at KXTV-TV, ABC's affiliate station in Sacramento, Calif. (1998-02). In addition to hosting KXTV's News10 Red Zone, Jacobson served as a sports reporter for the station's post -Monday Night Football Show (1996-98) and as co-host of NBA Insiders, a weekly two-hour radio show for the Sacramento Kings flagship station, KHTK-AM (2000-02). While at KXTV-TV, Jacobson won two regional awards including the Edward R. Murrow Award (2000) and the National Headliner Award (1998) for sports reporting.

Jacobson was graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a bachelor of arts in English and communications. She landed her first television job in Traverse City, Mich., at WPBN/WTOM-TV, where she spent two years as a producer, editor, and fill-in news anchor.

JAY CRAWFORD
co-host of ESPN First Take

Jay joined ESPN in August of 2003 as a co-host of ESPN2's weekday morning show – Cold Pizza. In May 2007, the show moved to ESPN's high-definition studio in Bristol, Conn., and was rechristened ESPN First Take. Crawford interviews guests, participates in discussion segments and shares hosting duties for the show's "1st and 10" debate segments. The two-hour program, which mixes lighter sports stories with analysis of the day's news, airs at 10 a.m. ET, and is repeated immediately at noon or continues live as breaking news warrants.

Before coming to ESPN, Crawford served as the sports director for WFTS-TV in Tampa, Fla., March 1998 to August 2003, notably covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Championship in 2003. He was also the sports director for WBNS-TV in Columbus, Ohio (1993 – 1998).

Crawford served as a weekend sports anchor for WTIC-TV, Hartford, Conn., (March 1992 - July 1993). He began his sports television career in 1987 at WYMT-TV Hazard, Kentucky. Crawford was graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1987 with a bachelor of arts in radio, television and film.

His professional achievements include winning four regional Emmy Awards – the Best Sportscaster Kentucky AP Award, as well as three SPJ Best Sports Program Awards. Jay has been a Children's Miracle Network host and has contributes his time working with the Special Olympics.

SKIP BAYLESS
Commentator on ESPN First Take

Skip Bayless joined ESPN in 2004 as a commentator on Cold Pizza, ESPN2's weekday morning show (10 a.m.-12 p.m. ET). In May 2007, the show moved from New York to ESPN's high-definition studio in Bristol, Conn., and was rechristened ESPN First Take. A nationally respected columnist, Bayless, well-known for his strong opinions appears on the 1st and 10 segments. The best of those segments are aired on ESPN on 1st and 10 (weekdays at 4 p.m.).

Bayless previously worked as a star columnist in Dallas, Chicago and San Jose for over 20 years. He also wrote in Miami and Los Angeles. He is the author of three books chronicling three Dallas Cowboys eras.

Bayless was graduated from Vanderbilt University, which he attended on the university's prestigious Fred Russell-Grantland Rice Sportswriting Scholarship.
