Jermaine Jones a factor as New England tops Chicago Fire 2-1

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Charlie Davies scored the go-ahead goal in the 60th minute in the New England Revolution's 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Sunday night.

Jermaine Jones maneuvered through a seam up the middle of the Chicago (5-7-14) defense and passed forward to Davies to create the opportunity for New England (12-12-3).

Davies smashed it home just 2 minutes after he entered the game as a substitute for Patrick Mullins. Diego Fagundez pulled the Revs even at one on a header in the 41st minute.

Sanna Nyassi gave the Fire a 1-0 lead on a header in the 28th minute off Quincy Amarikwa's cross.

Sean Johnson made back-to-back diving saves in the 58th minute for the Fire.
