Finland missed the opportunity to move to the top of Group F as they were held by Greece in their European Championship qualifying clash in Helsinki.
Having opened their campaign with a straightforward victory in the Faroe Islands, Mixu Paatelainen's side came from behind to share a 1-1 draw with a Greece side who claimed their first point of the group.
Nikolaos Karelis put the visitors in front with a smart first-half finish, with Jarkko Hurme hitting back for Finland before the hour mark as both had to settle for a point from what proved to be an even contest.
Tim Sparv missed an early chance to put the hosts ahead, with no side really posing a threat until Panathinaikos striker Karelis broke the deadlock at the midway point of the first half as the 22-year-old arrowed home from the edge of the area having been picked out by Andreas Samaris.
Roman Eremenko forced a save out of Orestis Karnezis as Finland looked to hit back immediately, but it was Giannis Maniatis who had the best chance of the half, passing up the opportunity to double Greece's lead as he shot wide when well-placed.
The hosts looked livelier after the interval and Alexander Ring tested Karnezis shortly before Hurme hit the equaliser.
The Odd defender finished well as Kasper Hamalainen found his team-mate in the box, with Finland deservedly drawing level.
Hurme nearly played a part in Greece re-establishing their lead as he fouled Karelis to concede a dangerous free-kick with 20 minutes remaining.
Samaris swung in the resulting set-piece but Sokratis Papastathopoulos could not beat Niki Maenpaa with his header as the Finland goalkeeper did well to keep hold of the Borussia Dortmund defender's effort.
Samaris, Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Vassilis Torosidis all spurned further chances to give Greece a late lead, while Joel Pohjanpalo was guilty of missing the hosts' best opportunity to take three points.
