Carlos Tevez had put the hosts ahead with a penalty in the 27th minute before Roma captain Francesco Totti equalised five minutes later, also from the spot.
Juan Manuel Iturbe put Roma in front for the first time in the 44th minute but Tevez converted another penalty to level matters on the stroke of half-time.
